New boat with a Helix 10 SI unit on it and I’m trying to learn how to understand what im looking at. This is what I came across this weekend. Am I looking at bass beds? Or bluegills beds? It was in a area with submerged weeds. Sorry about the bad picture I didn’t hqve a memory card in the helix so I couldn’t take a screenshot.
Looks like bluegill/redear beds to me. I was talking to a not so close family friend who guides on KY lake a few years back. He was telling me that he could see beds on his SI, I called his bluff and he showed me a pic that lookes like this. He said he scans the flats in the backs of the bays until he sees them, then he will have his clients fill the boat with gills.
