    Lake Ouachita

the lakes in Oklahoma are flooded out so the wife and I are heading to Ouachita on monday for a little R&R. Anybody know what the fish are doing? I'm not looking for your spots just a heads up. I haven't been on it before. Will be in the crystal springs area. Also might want to try a little striper action. Thanks

Hard to beat a drop shot and trick worm. Jerk baits are working as well.

Show up around Mountain Harbor at daylight. The striper guides have been doing good on stripers lately. When you find a school of feeding stripers, you can have a lot of fun with a big jerk bait or topwater.

I was there on memorial day and they were biting pretty good on trees from 20 to 25 feet

The fishing will really pick up after 4th of July but for now find grass in 15ft and you will find Largemouth. Spots can be found as mentioned above or in brush piles or just suspended around points. Also, keep an eye out for breaking fish, they don't stay up long but if your get lucky you can have some fun.

    Lake Ouachita
As of Wednesday, the Army Corps of Engineers reports the lake’s elevation at Blakely Dam was 578.31 feet msl (full pool: 578.00 feet msl).
(updated 6-5-2019) Todd Gadberry at Mountain Harbor Resort and Spa (870-867-2191/800-832-2276 out of state) said black bass are still good. Texas-rigged soft plastics, drop-shot rigs and topwaters fished over points are working at this time. Walleye are very good. Small minnow-colored crankbaits and nightcrawlers on drop-shot rigs are producing good stringers. Stripers are still good. Most of these fish have moved to the central part of the lake and are being caught on live bait or big hair jigs. Bream are very good with reports of fish being caught with grubs and worms in 8-15 feet of water near brush. Crappie are fair and being caught with jigs or minnows in 12-20 feet of water near brush. Catfish are still very good and anglers are having luck with limb lines and trot lines using live bait. Water temperature is ranging 76-80 degrees and the clarity is clearing. Lake level earlier this week was 578.24 feet msl, a quarter-inch over normal pool.
