    Water in motor Fortrex

I need to replace my Fortrex . Can I just take the hexnut and remove motor and replace it without replacing complete trolling motor & bracket.

If you are replacing the motor ( pedal, head, shaft and motor) with another Fortrex ( not Ultrex) of the same length, you can use the old Fortrex bracket that's on the boat. I used a new motor from a friend on a two year old bracket once when I had not received my new motor yet. I don't understand the part about not replacing complete trolling motor. Do you mean replacing just the part that is in the water ? I don't think you can do that yourself.

Disconnect the lift assist piston. THEN remove the hex socket head bolt.

In deployed position remove hex nut , lift motor off, replace with new motor and pedal.
