Jackplate on 05 201pro xl

I'm working on setting up my 05 201 pro XL. Has anybody ran a 12 inch Jack plate on this boat? It currently has a 6in running an 04 Yamaha 250 ox66

I've heard some guys claim stratos said not to go over 8" and read about many 10" plates and guys liked the results. I am debating the 12" but don't wanna go to far and stress the transom. I'm sure the performance would probably be great though

I have same the boat with a yamaha 250 ox66 and I run a 10" fixed manual slidemaster jackplate. Stratos recommends max 8". I would not exceed a 10"..

Stinson designed a triple step hull so it doesn't require much set back. It dpends on what you are looking to accomplish but I would opt. for a 6" to 8" hydraulic and be done with it. I ran CMC's hyd.'s on all my mid 90's 201's with great success and never heard of anyone gaining much from doubling thier set back. I would recommend an Atlas today.

I had a 03 201 Pro with a 10" Bob's Hyd. plate and it ran great! I recommend a 10".
