I assume a 45" shaft is fine for lakes like Toledo, Fork, etc.? They offer 45, 52, 60. I can't measure it on the water as Minn Kota recommends :)

I went with a 52". If you fish offshore, I recommend the 52".
They only have the 45'' option on Vexus's site.
I just checked the "build mine" for 1980 and it listed 52" shaft models.
Got a 52" on my 2080.
Yeah, the pictures of the boat in the water make the front look high, but maybe that's just the slope of the hull, I can't really tell. But if people have the 1980 with a 52 and it stows fine and isn't in the way, that may be safest?
No issues stowing the 52" on my 1980.
We have the 45” shaft on our 1980 and have no issues fishing choppy water, but if you often fish in white caps or large boat wakes the 52” wouldn’t be a bad idea. With that said Chickamauga has large rolling waves and I don’t think we have had the trolling motor come out of the water once in our trips. We have all experienced that time the barge or cruiser comes by and the the trolling motor comes a foot out the water. No additional shaft length can protect against such rare events.
