    Chester County Bass Masters May 25th Upper Bay Open #2 Reults

    Chester County Bass Masters held their 2nd of five opens for the 2019 season on May 25th out of Anchor Marine in Northeast Maryland.

    66 Teams showed up on a late spring Saturday in search of a 5 fish limit of Upper Bay black bass. The largemouth were in various stages, some still spawning, some post spawn.

    A few storms rolled thru during the week, muddying up the water a little but cleared out for the weekend to set up for a nice tournament day.
    Air temps at launch were around 57 with very little breeze. The tournament launched at 5:30 under partly cloudy skies with a forecast high of 74. Winds picked up mid morning to the normal 10 +.

    Water temps were in the 69 - 72 degree range depending on where you fished. Water color was a little muddy in some areas, with normal water farther south.
    Launch was on a falling tide with low around 10:30 am.

    31 five fish limits were brought in with 10 other teams having 4 fish.
    41 double digit weights were brought to the scales.
    7 bass over 4 pounds were weighed in.
    11 bass over 5 pounds were weighed in.
    3 bass over 6 pounds were weighed in.

    14 cash places were paid, along with 16 sponsor prizes from Susquehanna Tackle, Rhino Linings of Delaware, Dobyns Rods, Cal Coast Clip n Cull, Bass Cat, River Bottom Reels, Zee Bait Company, Steak & Main Restaurant , BUFF USA, Hi Seas fishing line, Nichols Lures, Batteries+ Store , Gruv Fishing Boxes, Native Tungsten Weights, Venom Lures and GRT Jigs.

    26 boats participated in $ 60 option pot which paid 3 spots.

    $ 6,977 in cash was paid along with $ 1000 in sponsor prizes.

    First place cash payout and championship plaques went to Steve Hannah and Russell Wright . The pair found the right bites to bring in an almost record 5 fish limit of 24.65 Lbs to take home the top spot and nice cash winnings of over 2 grand.
    Included in that impressive bag was a big fish of 5.51 Lbs.
    The Team also took home an additional $ 936 by entering the $ 60 Option Pot and taking first place cash there.
    Steve and Russ also received Dobyns Rods 40 % off cards along with a pair of Dobyns Hats.
    Their 24.65 Lbs is the 2nd largest limit ever weighed in a Chester County Open in the 7 years we've run them.

    Second place cash went to the team of Nick Lepone and DJ Fiori. The team put together an outstanding 5 fish limit weighing in at 22.45 Lbs.
    Included in that impressive bag was the CCBM Tournament Lunker, a 6.65 fat girl that was worth an additional $ 660 in lunker payout. Nice work.
    The pair also entered the $ 60 Option Pot, taking home 2nd place cash of $ 468 from that voluntary pot.
    The team also took home 40 % off cards for Dobyns Rods and a pair of heavy duty zippered Dobyns weigh bags.

    Third place money was won by the team of Bobby Oberly and John Schoener who brought a 5 fish limit to the scales that topped out at 21.57 Lbs. Their big fish weighed in at 5.57 Lbs. and was good for the 5th Lunker which won them a $ 50 gift card from Batteries Plus store in Springfield Pa.
    The team also received cards for 40 % off Dobyns Rods

    Fourth place dough was earned by the team of Duane Essick and Jay Pirollo who weighed in a 5 fish limit for 21.13 Lbs another great limit of Upper Bay bass.
    The team also won the Susquehanna Fishing Tackle $ 50 gift card for having the 2nd Lunker, an outstanding 6.47 pound bass.

    Fifth place cash went to the team of Sean Geerlof and Stan Horne who weighed in a nice 5 fish limit of 19.70 Lbs with their big bass going 5.51 pounds. Great work on the day.



    Sixth place coin was collected by the team of Don Jones and Jerry Stump who brought 5 fish to the scales for 19.25 Lbs. with a big bass of 5.52 Lbs.
    The team also took home 3rd place cash in the $ 60 Option Pot.


    Seventh place money was snagged by the team of Harry Nurk and Calvin Shwenk with a 5 fish limit weighing 19.22 Lbs. and a big fish of 5.02 Lbs.


    Eighth place money spot was secured by the team of Dan Fitzpatrick and Jackson Fu with a 5 bass limit for 18.55 pounds.


    Ninth place cash was collected by the team of Nick Ferry and Scott Macanulty who brought 5 fish to the scales for 18.06 Lbs. with a big fish of 4.62 lbs.


    Tenth place money was collected by the team of Keith Thomas and Jordan Sypeck who brought 5 fish to the table for 18.00 Lbs.


    Eleventh place cash went to the team of Ed Donnely and Bill Pursley who brought 5 fish to the scales for 17.85 Lbs. and a big fish of 5.23 Lbs.


    Twelfth money spot was won by by the team of Ryan Bauman and John Vanore who brought 5 fish to the scales for 17.77 Lbs. with a big fish of 4.44 lbs.


    Thirteenth money spot was won by by the team of Devynn Brown and Nate Brown who brought 5 fish to the scales for 17.56 Lbs.
    The team had the 3rd Lunker of 6.29 lbs. which won them a set of Cal Coast Clip n Culls 2.0, non puncturing cull tags.

    Fourteenth and final cash spot was won by Terry Roberson and Andrew Chianese, the team brought in 5 bass for 17.46 Lbs.
