Solix – Vector (Time) & (Distance)

On the same page you set the heading lines COG and Hdg Vector to Infinite to see the line a crossed the entire chart there are 2 other settings Vector (time) and Vector (Distance)

    Home >Settings >My Vessel >

Can someone explain these to me please?

I assume the distance is to set the distance of the line but I could be wrong
As for the time I have no clue

There is absolutely nothing on these in the manual

My understanding on vector time or distance changes the scale of the heading line from a set distance ahead to a set time ahead at current speed. I was playing with my 1198 a few years ago and have not messed with is since. You might have a better explanation in some navigation documents. Bob

    Short version:
The length of the Coarse Projection Line and the Heading Projection Line is adjustable with three choices each.

If you have Coarse Vector set to Infinite, the line is infinite (like forever).
If you change that setting from Infinite, you get two other ways to use it---- by Time (adjustable) or by Distance (adjustable).
Those two adjustments are the selections below
