    Question Trailer Tag

With a boat registered in Alabama, does the trailer have a tag?

If you only are fishing in Alabama you will not need a tag. BUT...if you go outside the state you will need one. I buy one every year, its $25 and I do not have to worry about if a state requires one or not.

I have traveled with my Alabama boat/trailer. Been stopped in Texas, Mississippi and I forget other state maybe Illinois. Where is your trailer tag?
I say Alabama does not require one. They then ask for boat registration and when I show it.....I am good to go!

My boat is registered in Wisconsin, which requires no tag, and I've been all over with it for years and only been pulled over for it once. Cop checked, saw it didn't require tag and I was on my way. That said, it wouldn't hurt I suppose to have one to save the hassle.

No you don't need a tag. Trailer has to be in compliance with state it is registered in. Dogfish is just throwing away $25 each year. But that is ok, Alabama needs the money.
