Good hook for 4" Fat Ika

I decided to try the 4" Fat Ika but I'm struggling coming up with a good hook for them when reverse t-rigging it (going through the tail first). I've been using a Gamakatsu superline 3/0 EWG and I've hooked a few fish, but I've missed a lot of bites as well. Because the bait is so thick I don't feel like I'm getting enough gap between the bait and the hook to get consistent hook-ups. It seems like if I stepped up to a 4/0 EWG the hook might be a little too long for the bait, but I honestly haven't tried it yet. What are you guys using for this bait when you reverse t-rig it?

Owner Riggin hook. I think you can use a 5/0 but 4/0 for sure. Haven't fished one of those in a while.

I use to have the same issue , once I used the gamakatsu deep throat wide gap my hook up ratio has been outstanding. Don’t peg the bait either and I do like a side sweep hookset.

Owner hooks are horrible on Fat Ikas. The Gammy Deep throat 4/0 is the hook to get.

Thanks for the recommendations, and especially for the pic! The 3/0 Gammy superline EWG hook I'm using right now looks a lot like the bait on the far left in the picture, except that the bottom of the hook is closer to the head of the bait, which is why I wondered if a 4/0 would be too big. I'll have to pick up a package of the deep throat hooks.
