Why do you buy a new boat?

I've been on the fence and I'm curious what reasons you buy a new or newer boat. I'm speaking specifically to people that fish just for fun not professionally.

I would, and do buy new because you usually receive a longer warranty on the hull, and you're the original owner so you know what the boat has been through. Also, you're not buying someone else problems.

Im sure there are plenty of boats out there for sale that are just fine, however it would give me piece of mind knowing what my boat has gone through.

I bought a newer boat because I wanted a newer boat. It really is that simple.

I pleasure fish since the early 90's, but always owned nice boats. I don't always choose to buy new when I replace my boats, but I do shop new, and if i come across a "deal" on a new one, I grab it.

New motor for me. That and today’s 20 foot boats ride considerably better and have far better storage than my current 1998 skeeter 202. When mine craps out I’m buying a new or newer version

That is also a reason I'm looking at a newer boat, I don't have any rear storage like the newer boats do.

When I bought my boat it was mainly for storage. The rod lockers in my old boat were not large enough for over 7' rods.

Have never regretted one time upgrading.

I tend to upgrade after 7 years. Reliability and potential maintenance costs are my primary motives. I also try to keep my boat immaculate and a new boat looks so good. I always order a new boat to get exactly what I need.

I buy used and always have. Depreciation on a new boat is crazy. My current boat looks as good as new. I’ve never worried about warranty’s as I maintain my boat myself. If something breaks I fix it. If my HPDI ever dies I’ll just re power.

If ya'll found deals on new boats like I do (very lucky I guess!) you'd buy new at times also!... it's always on a new "previous year" leftover.
