    Radio In Boat

How many of you guys have a radio on the boat? Is it factory or aftermarket? Where are your speakers and how did you mount them to not look silly? Pictures are helpful.

I have a walmart special nothing radio tied to the rear seat post. I ruin one every couple of years and restart the process. Just found a 3" round radio that mounts into a gauge hole, I think I might remove the 1980s round flasher and install a real radio.

Last Stereo I installed got stolen with the removable deck lid and gimbal mount the stereo was in as well as the 6" blue led lit speakers I mounted in a custom fiber glass box I made for the speakers. I have yet to put another stereo on the boat. I will soon though.

The Gimbal mount was similar to this one. I think I had a Jensen though

Edit: It was very similar to this one. I painted mine black.

same one listed on ebay for a decent price.

I fish in Central and Western Kentucky ... occasionally in Tennessee. My problem with a radio is that there aren't enough good stations around to make it worthwhile. I have a Braven wireless speaker that I use with my cell phone. Works like a champ!

I was unaware of the 3.5” round radios until I started looking last night after posting in this thread. It looks like there are several offerings from different name brands with Bluetooth for streaming music.

Sonic hub is the best thing if you have a Lowrance unit. Get better speakers and a amp and you can hear it running 70 mph at about 75% of the volume level

Looks exactly like what I am planning on doing. I can put it in the old flasher location.

I have a Clarion Black Box Unit with Bose Marine Speakers that are mounted in the deck extension. The black box is inside the deck extension with my structure scan

I went with the Sonic Hub integrated into my Lowrance units, regular radio, Sirius satellite and Bluetooth capable. I had 6.5 inch Kicker speakers installed and they are mounted on either side of my step down area from the front deck in my 520L boat.

<--- iPod™ I go fish with my dogs who have way better hearing and for me to actually hear it, it would be way too LOUD.. I don't have the radio in the car on either.

Did you still have plenty of room with the fuel tanks being behind the front bulk head
