    2012 200 Pro Xs - RPM Drop?

My 2012 200 Optimax 200 Pro Xs, serial number 1B904196 / model number 1200P73EY, the past 4 or 5 trips out has been randomly dropping RPM’s. I can be cruising at 50 or 60 mph and hear and feel it drop about 100 rpms for a second or two and picks right back up, this happens randomly through the rpm range but I haven’t noticed it at WOT. After I noticed this the first trip I did the yearly/100 hour service(plug, fuel filter, lower unit). That did not improve it any. I run DFI oil and the opti cocktail in the fuel as well and have run probably 60-70 gallons of fuel through the motor over this period of occurrence. What could the be causing this condition? The motor has 350 hours on it per the mercmonitor. Thanks in advance!

Your documented electrical problems from previous threads could be causing this issue. What were the results from the recommended battery load testing?

    Savage

With a Digital Volt meter. Relay and solenoids are on the starboard side of the motor.
    Load test the start battery.
Check all connections at the battery and starter solenoid.
    EuropeanAM
In addition to checking for 12V+ power on the yellow w/red stripe wire (AT the starter solenoid, when turning to the START position), it would also be a good idea to load test your battery and confirm it's connections are correct (engine cables FIRST, remaining largest to smallest, Stainless Hex or Nylock Nut to secure it).

Guessing based on your "click" comment that there is likely a solenoid or ground problem. The ground wires and bolt connections on the electrical plate are areas of interest.
Sounds like your corroded wiring issues run deeper.

I’ll have battery load tested this week then... it’s got 930 CCA and it’s less than a year old. What should the load test minimum be? And if it’s not the battery, where else do I start? Or is it better to bring it to our local Merc specialist?

    From the FAQ....

Click on this >>>>"BATTERIES THAT MEET THE REQUIREMENT"- Updated 10/17

Its likely that there is more corrosion issues in the wiring system.

I had my battery load tested this morning at autozone, they said the battery tested at 100%. It’s X2 Power AGM group 27, 930 CCA, 1080 MCA, 195 AH, and has been working perfectly for the last year since installed. After the 4 year old group 24 that came in the boat quit on it was replaced it with the same size and had issues, and ended up having to replace the fuse block on the motor for the battery. Don sent me a spare he had, I had to use a solder and seal connection on that leg to get everything back together. I’ve been using this new battery since that period and haven’t had any issues until recently. Where should I start from here?

The reason, I believe at any rate, I had to replace the fuse block was when the battery went bad I used jumper cables and fried the one fuse which melted that one leg beyond repair. So I replaced it with a whole new block. Maybe there’s issues in the wiring up to that block?
