GPS map depth adjustment
The mapping and shading thread made me think of this. I know you can adjust the depth based on how deep the transducer is. Is there a way to automatically adjust the depth according to tide? The unit already tracks tide based upon time of day and date.

You can manually adjust depth and the map display will adjust along with contour lines but not automatically. I'm not sure why this is not built to auto adjust. I believe the data point missing is the map reporting back what depth is has set at a particular point. The finder knows how deep it is and it knows where you are, it just needs to know how deep the map "thinks" it is where you are so it can calculate the adjustment. Setting depth reporting points on the map could achieve this. Common points like launch ramps.
