    2002 225 hp OX66 oil

    Getting a Stratos boat with this motor on it. What is the recommended oil to run in it, have always used pennzoil in my mercury & is there any additives I need to use. THanks

    I almost always run pennzoil. Almost no carbon buildup and less smoke than yamalube.

    Bought my boat new in 2000. 200HP OX66. Been running Yamalube in it since day one. No problems so far.

    I ran Amsoil for the last 12 years I owned my 03 225 OX66 with not one problem. Prior to that I ran yamalube for a year and couldn't keep it out of the shop every week with O2 sensor problems. Just coincidence...? ALWAYS run Ringfree additive!
