I can buy two Helix 10" Mega Si G2n's for the same price as two Helix 9" Mega+ Si G3n's. Are the G3n's that much better or should I get the G2n's with the bigger screens? What gives?

The G2N's are discontinued antiques if you can still find some on close-out sale.
Soooo your choice is old larger or current smaller.

I can still get them. Is the g3n worth all the hype/money over the g2n or is it not that noticeable and the bigger screens would be better for the money? Never owned Humminbirds before. Just making the switch from Lowrance.
I would normally always say bigger is better but ....
the new Mega+ has the lowQ transducer which is much better than the 2d on the regular mega.
I have a gen2 DI on my bow and a gen3 SI at the console, I realize they are not the same but the gen3 is way better at 2d sonar. I would vote for the newer helix 9 no question. I don't feel like the 9 is small. Good luck
The difference between the Gen3 8 & 9 is 1 diagonal inch, same pixel count and hardly even noticeable. The $300 difference would buy a zero line card and a map card.
And the G3 has more pixels than the G2, 1024x600 vs 800x480. Seems like a better picture makes up for the small difference in screen size.
Well, that’s what I get for looking stuff up on my phone and having to scroll too much. Thanks for the correction. Hope I didn’t mislead the OP.
