Anybody know if millers ramp is open and if not what ramps are open for access ? I’m headed out today and hope to be on the water tomorrow am . Happy Memorial Day to all and a special thanks to all the military and thier families who give us our freedom everyday !
millers could be, haven't been up there. Last weekend Mcelsons, big slough and of course Gils were all open. As the water continues to rise Gils in the middle of spring lake will be the only ramp available.

Didn’t make it to millers yet . Big slough was high but fine . Fished spring lake only
I'm betting with the high water Millers will be flooded out. Spring Lake is your best bet.

I have never fished pool 13, but would like to this upcoming weekend. With the high water I was planning on sticking to spring lake. Does anyone have any tips about navigating through spring lake, or is the water high enough right now you can drive anywhere?

The pool is over 19' this morning. ENOUGH of this flooding and rain!!! Still, we are going to be on the water thursday and friday. There is limited parking at the Spring Lake ramp. If you're there on the weekend it might get tight.

Bie Slough 5 30 19.JPG The ramp at Spring Lake is still useable although the dock is not. You'll need to use the road to access the facilities (outhouse). You may run pretty much anywhere safely. We had great weather Thursday and Friday … and when the barometer dropped Thursday afternoon a great bite. Between my son and I we would have easily hit 18#. We found a rare opportunity created by the high water and some specific conditions where there was an awesome current run and clear water. Thank you Lord!!! That was fun and it was great to share it with my son. One odd thing is that we could see rain over in Iowa and Savanna but none on the river where we were in the sun. Our biggest was just over 5. Another odd thing is that at the end of the run the current flow reversed 180 deg. and ran south to north. By that time we had our fun and the bite went away. But it was a great day. The morning had been slow and we were thinking that Spring Lake has had too much pressure being the only fishable lake - although we never tried other areas up or down river.

I ran into a local man who said he had heard that plans are on the books to dredge spring lake in the near future to add some depth and to rehab the levy walls. Anyone else that can confirm this? This gentleman said he was part of the crew that created the deep hole project years back in spring lake.

Federal money for upper Mississippi river restoration was allocated several years ago. There has been a lot of projects in pools north of pool 13. I know of work scheduled for Beaver Island in pool 14 but haven't heard of what plans are for pool 13. If I hear of any I'll post it.

We have another setback or step forward - we'll see which. Monday I go in for a hip replacement. Hope to loose all of the discomfort and pain in the right hip and leg. Doc says it has come down to this ... so, one more time into the OR for the bionic rebuild.
