    Tachometer help please!!!!

    I just recently inquired a 1998 Sprint 296 pro with a 200 mariner 2.5L..My question is and I'm sure it's been asked before but I can't seem to find it. Previous owner install a new tach and he said it didn't work.I done some research and everything I found shows the setting on the back for the poles is suppose to be set to 12.Well there is not 12 on this one it only goes to 6. Is this the wrong tach or is there another problem I need to be looking into? Thanks

    Have you tried looking at the owners manual for the tach itself? I suspect that will clear things up for you one way or the other.
