788 with DI and Ultrex

Question on using Ultrex (with Ipilot Link) with 788 DI at the bow. Yes I know the 788 is old school, it will be replaced next year along with adding an ethernet switch. I replaced the Fortrex this year, so I can't afford other upgrades this year. The 788 DI had the transducer clamped to the bottom of the Fortrex. Should I do the same thing with Ultrex? I realize this means the sonar cable from the Ultrex would not be hooked to anything.
Or would the internal sonar in the Ultrex cause disruption to any DI transducer clamped on the bottom of Ultrex (because these two transducers would be pretty close to each other)? I won't be surprised if you tell me that I should not use the 788 DI transducer and instead connect the Ultrex sonar cable to the 788.

Do not clamp the DI transducer under the Ultrex one. It will cause it to melt and blow up. Jokes aside you will be fine.
