Things are getting western on the Arkansas River

Two barges have broken loose and may impact the dam at Webber’s Falls. Would be catastrophic.

They have planes up with spotlights looking for them There are 2 highway bridges they will have to hit or clear before the get to the lock and dam. The lock master is saying it might break a gate or 2 but won't be catastrophic

After seeing what that barge did to the I40 bridge at Webber’s Falls in 2002, I am not so sure about that.

Guys, the state of Oklahoma needs your thoughts and prayers. We have watched all day as houses fall into rivers and the flooding is historic. The amount of water is unreal and all lakes are crazy high. Ft. Gibson is over 27' high and releasing over 200,000 cubic feet per second and Keystone is 29' high and also releasing over 206,000 cubic feet per second. Just saw a release that Keystone is going up to 300,000 in the morning. That doesn't include several other lakes that are 15-20' high and almost all drain into the Arkansas. In case you are curious, there are 7.48 gallons of water in a cubic foot. That means over 1.5 million gallons per second and over 90 million gallons per minute. Almost can't comprehend those numbers and it's still raining!

With the pressure of all the swollen river has ---the barge doesnt have to smash the dam, all it has to do is put a big crack in it and the volume of water pushing against crack will do the rest !

Numbers don't lie! There is a lot of water and it's gotta go somewhere.

Hope all turns out okay for y’all upstream...

Way too much water in way too many places this spring/early summer.

MS River is approaching 100 consecutive days above flood stage on the Vicksburg gauge... constant levels not seen since the historic 1927 flood... Nearly a half-million acres still inundated in the South Delta.

    Rain, rain, go away.

Now that they have located them, can they chase them down and at least run them aground.

Last I heard, they had them located and were securing them about a mile from Webber.

All the lakes here are releasing record water and it is going to be down there in a couple days. Nothing they can do there, but shove it on down the river too. More rain for the next four days is forecast here, but maybe not any of the heavy stuff that has been happening.
