    Flashing a 175 SHO

Looking to purchase new rig with either the 175 SHO or the F200LB. Prefer the 200 but not sure what performance advantages or otherwise the SHO provides. Spec sheets all tag the 200 as being stronger and more fuel efficient. The questions is this... What is the cost to flash a 175 to 200 and what would I gain over the F200 out the gate?

    You cannot flash a 175 to a 200. The 200 - 250 are 4.2 liter sharing the same block.

Contact Simon Motorsports and talk to him about what might be gained, I know there is a flash for the 150 which is the same motor as the 175 but not sure what the power claims are.

Ya, Simmons or possibly Hydro Tec Marine. The SHO 4 cyl, I believe can be tuned to 200 to 220 HP, unconfirmed. I would imagine you would gain 15 to 25 HP, and increase the limiter quite a bit. The 175 SHO is a sweet engine, fairly light, good power, and it comes with the 1.86 gear ratio, where the 150 has a 2.00:1. The 175 SHO is very similar to the F200 4cyl, but I believe the cams might be different, and exhaust is slightly different.

Here's a rundown of all the engines in that range.
