    Cranking battery

It’s time for a new cranking battery, what should I look for in a new battery? I have a 2008 250 HPDI and run a 12 and 9 Lowrance HDS Live off of the cranking battery. TIA

Batteries Plus X2 Power or a Napa commercial. Both in the 31 size.

Also running the Duracell Group 31 as a Cranker. It is actually made by Penn Deca/ USA made and is an excellent value. Merc 250 2 stroke, 4 graphs, 2 poles. Not as strong as the X2 mentioned which will be my next cranker.

Another vote for this one. On my third year with it running a 250 Pro XS, two PP's, and two 12" graphs with no problems,

The battery performance specifications and warranty provided negate all opinions. The X2 is viable choice as it closely matches the Odessey 31M-PC2150ST which is the benchmark group 31 battery for marine use. 2nd is how much $ are you willing to spend?

I eliminate any and every service/performance issue associated with the boat as I would rather fish.

I run this as a starting battery and the duel purpose for my Trolling Motor. I get them at the Peterbilt dealer in town. Kenworth/Freightliner/International also carry them. They're labeled as TRP. Very tough battery, long lasting and they will take a beating !!
