    250 SHO dies

250 SHO dies while idling when trimmed down and jack plate down. It seems the exhaust under water is causing it. This happen to anyone else? Is there a fix for this? Or is it a problem with my engine. 78 hours I know I can trim up and raise the JP but that makes the nose ride higher which could be a problem for a little short guy like me.

Is this a new problem or has it always done this since new?

More likely an electrical problem when trimmed down causing a short or break.

it doesn't do it if I plow at 6 or 7 mph. Also does not do it when on plane. If i raise the jack plate all the way up with the motor tucked it idles fine. I assume if it was an electrical problem it would do it no matter what the speed with the motor tucked. am I right in thinking it's a back pressure issue with the exhaust?
