    Mercury speedometer

    I have a 1985 150 Black Max Mercury. I was cleaning out the hole in the front of my lower unit and a stainless steel tube about 1.5” long cane completely out. Is the Chamber that the speedometer in on the lower unit a sealed and separate from my gears? Don’t want any water getting to them.
