There are some good big ones in the Pacific Northwest, but we will keep these lakes a secret as long as possible.

The Glacial Lakes region of SD has giants. I’m talking about when you get bored with catching so many 4 pound smallies. Also, Ft Peck in MT is a lake that has produced a number of 27+ pound limits.

HAHA one day I'll make that trip. My buddy made it a couple years ago with Matt and a few other guys. Sounds like good times.

Does anyone ever night fish for small mouth on the great Lakes? On Dale Hollow in summer, night time is the right time.

I live straight across the lake at Waupoos, ON. I head out there quite often. Out from Rochester is pretty good too. And also from the Main Duck Islands east along the mid lake shoals and the south shore of Prince Edward County is absolutely insane... 5 plus pounds all day long. You have to read the weather though, as those mid day thermals can bust you up pretty good.

For quantity, you have to go north. The TN river system and Dale Hollow have the size but not the numbers like up north.

If you don't have your heart set on catching a six pound smallmouth. There's a ton of lakes in northern Michigan, Wisconsin, and Minnesota where you can catch quality (2 to 4 lb.) smallmouth and largemouth hand over fist.
