    200 ss prop

Thinking of repowering my nitro z7 from a 2.5 mercury 200 to Suzuki 200 ss. Really want to go four stroke but 20 months out for a mercury is too long to wait! These Suzuki's are pretty impressive and have 2 dealers very close.
Anyone got any prop suggestions for this 2.5 to 1 lower unit on this Suzuki? Thanks fellas!

I have a 150 SS and I am going to upgrade to a 200SS next week. I am using a 15.25" diameter 24 pitch 4 blade on an Atlas jack plate. I can put it on the rev limiter if I am by myself. It performs well with a tournament load and I am going to start with a 15.25" diameter 26 pitch 4 blade on the 200SS I also have a 27 pitch 3 blade that is 14.5". I am running a Gambler Outlaw and it is loaded 99% of the time. I love my 150SS and it is a 2015. I am excited to get the 200SS on my Gambler.

My Suzuki 200 is not the SS model and it came with a 14.5"x3 25 pitch Suzuki prop but it hits the rev limiter. I am not completely finished with break in and will probably try something else at that point.

What size of prop were you originally running with the Mercury? Maybe a prop slip calculator that accounts for lower unit gear ratio can help you out and get you in the ball park.

    Just as a data point for you. I have a 20' bay boat with a 175. I'm running a 16" X 23" 3 blade. Zuks can spin a big prop

The boat weighs 1550 dry, 2 people, fishing gear, it will run 52 gps and it will run 45 super loaded with 49 gallons of gas. This is a deep V boat with a 25" shaft, so she won't plane like a bass boat.

The 200SS weighs 518lbs. I am having one installed on my 1998 Outlaw this coming week. I have run the 150SS for several years and now I am making the change to the 200SS. I have a 15.25" x 26 pitch 4 blade that I am going to start with and see how it does. I have the 10 hours of break in time then will get the prop figured out. I also have a 27 pitch 14.5" 2 blade that I am going to try.
