We all know -- life is cruel so you have to live it!

I learned a long time ago never complain about not having shoes because someone does not have feet. However, today was a tough day! One year to the day, I fished the last time with a great fishing buddy before my final deployment since he passed while gone. Today, I took my best friend, greatest human, just such an amazing person's custom boat back to builder since he is very sick! I was there three years ago when he picked it up, fished in it many times, and saw the joy on his face when we fished. I always cherish life, however, today has cemented just live this short life and love every moment. Every time on the water I will think of them both until it is my time!

I understand how you feel. I lost my tournament partner a couple years back to pancreatic cancer. Miss him every day! You are very correct, better make every moment count!

My best friend bought his dream boat last year, he was looking forward to this year and all the fishing that he was going to do. He was diagnosed with throat cancer last fall, luckily he’s on the road to recovery; but it won’t be the same for quite some time. It’s a tough thing to think about, do what you can while you can or hope when you finally can afford it, that you’re able to use it.

Life is precious, but always terminal. A sad fact about growing older is loss of our friends and relatives. Some day it will be your turn. Let's do our best by our fellow man so they have good memories of us.
As far as the afterlife, let each of us make our own choice as to the path we take.
