    1980 RPMs

Hey guys I know some of this has been covered but I’m looking for some help. I’ve always seemed to have trouble with the performance of my 1980. I’m running the g2 with foot throttle. Manual jackplate. It seems like it struggles getting on pad. It’s got the stock raker 24p on it. The first few trips it ran decent but seemed like the speed wasn’t there. I recall once by myself at about 52mph all of a sudden it felt like a turbo kicked in and I hit 56mph quickly but that didn’t last long. Doesn’t seem to matter how I trim it, up or down, I can’t ever find the sweet spot. Well fast forward a month, the last two trips at wot I’m only hitting 5200rpm. Maybe 50mph. Idk what would cause me to lose the rpms but I’m disappointed that I’m not getting the performance out of this thing.

Sounds to me like you might have an engine issue. Take it to your dealer and have it checked out.

performance issue are really hard to diagnose remotely.
could be a engine issue, could be a foot throttle issue, could be prop issue.
you really need a experienced eye and ear to correct an issue like this.

take it back to your dealer, that's what they are their for .

There's been a few reports of shitty props on those G2.
