    819 trailer question

How well would the 819 carry on a single axle trailer? About the furthest I would drive to fish would be a 200 mile round trip. I really need a single axle as need to move some by hand to get the boat into my garage.

It's a heavy hull, but I wouldn't be afraid of it. I would suggest opting for the C-Channel frame, and also see if the shocks/struts are an option on the single axle. If the trailer doesn't come with D rated tires, swap them out. I don't pull mine very far on average. The only reason I enjoy mine is because these Alabama roads are pitiful.

Agree on the load range D tires. I put the Goodyear endurance tires on my last boat. It was a TZX 190 single axle trailer. I really liked them.

Dave- I have the 618 and came from a 19'6 ranger with single. You will want to take your new tires and trash them and put on load D's. My 618 has axle weight of 3500. The 818 should be closer to 4000. my ranger had 3 blowouts all driving about 270 miles each way. Tires were load C and over three years old. Load D and never have a tire on over 3 years regardless of miles.

my load D' will be replaced in Sept at 3 years. This is my way of feeling better about the single. Like you, I need the single.

I wouldn't be afraid if the boat is loaded they way I'd like. Just do your maintenance and keep an eye on the tires.

After towing a Triton 186 single axle, my dual axle Phoenix 819 was very confidence inspiring. You are right though it very hard to move

Keep in mind the amount of gear, Gas and other things in the boat. Its adds up quick. I second the change from the china bombs to Goodyear Endurance tires.

Not sure if you have looked at the wheel dollies that you can put under the front axle to make it easier to move. Here is a link to Harbor Freight. They will run a 10 or 20% off deal on one item, buy one then another one later! Or have a friend do it.
