merc 250xs #0t653142 i just installed vessel view to keep a eye on my temps seeing that i should not hammerdown till motor reaches 120 mine will idle at 117 118 and go up to 120 122 running. Water temps in the high 60s. Is 118 AT IDLE TO LOW ?Do i need to check something it seems others temp goes down while there running thanks.
I would pull BOTH thermostats and see the temperature rating.

Yes.
And check for any trash that can hold the stat open. Difficult to see sometimes. I usually just take 'em one at a time and hold them in a pan of hot water that is heated well beyond 125. When they open up, a quick brush with an old toothbrush and any trash will come right out.

thanks guys still had the 120 tstats in it.
You need new thermostat covers when upgrading to 130* thermostats.
