2003 Yamaha vmax solid tone
what does a solid tone mean?

Could mean several things. Normally it will mean either low oil in the main engine mounted oil tank or an over temperature condition.
It could also result from low battery voltage. It can also be heard if the motor is cranked with the kill switch removed.

By the way, Vmax is not a model. It is just a marketing designation. Would be nice if you posted the motor model.

ox66 3.1 liter. i think it was an overheat condition. prob sucked up some hydrilla. let it sit a while and all was good after that..
