Need to get old gas out?

This may have been posted but I didn't see it. The old owner of my boat hadn't put gas in one of the tanks for years. I took the sender unit off and there was a 1/4 tank in it. I ran to harbor freight and they had a hand pump for 7.00. this things sucks! I mean that in a good way haha. So if your trying to remove old gas give it a shot.

I have an electric little pump that I purchased many years from an auto parts store that works for many applications. Be careful though and don't let it spark when hooking it to a 12 volt battery. I added long rubber hoses to it and connections so I could hook it to a battery, works great.

I bought one of those hand pumps last fall to remove 48 gals of 14mo old fuel (full tank in my boat). I was able to get every drop out of my tank but it took 2 1/2hrs to do so. Might be fine for a few gallons, but it sucks, as in POS, for anything more. Never again.
