Replacing fuel sending unit 21ft bassboat

Guys i have a friend with a 1999 21ft Xpres bass boat and the fuel sending unit needs changing. I just looked at his boat and the sending unit is on the front driver side of the tank but theres only a few inches of clearance from the tank to the underside of the support for rear pedastal which the support is part of the deck. How in the world can changing the sending unit be done without cutting anything and rewelding it?

As soon as you pull the bolts out of the sending unit itll have at least an inch of slack in it. If you look at a picture of one youll see theres not much under the flange
