    1998 evinrude 200 vindicator High Idle

    I just bought a boat with a 200 vindicator and it seems to have a very high idle around 2500ish rpms. The motor is also struggling to get on pad unless the ball is pumped hard then it seems to still have issues but will get on pad for about 40 seconds then it will die. It sounds like it runs out of gas and dies. If you pump the bulb it will do this start and do the whole cycle over again. It has the oil injection deleted so there is an aftermarket fuel pumped rigged up as well. Anybody have any solutions? Also it does not have an airbox cover over the carbs when you take the cowl off you can see all the carbs.

    High idle on muffs or in the water? Contact the previous owner you need that air box on for proper operation.
