When replacing the bunk boards, my current ones have carriage bolts that have been countersunk into the wood and carpeted over the top and of course tighten from the bottom on a 1987 ranger 374v. What is considered the best way now to mount them?.. Pretty much all of youtube videos I have watched they look like they use lag screws just screwed into the wood from the bottom. I have not seen any use carriage bolts. My worry with lag screws is that after so long they screws would strip out or bore out the hole from vibration from the road.
Should I just remount them using the carriage bolts?
