    Yamaha question

I posted this on the Yamaha thread but haven’t gotten any response yet so I figured I’d try here. My 06 Eagle 175 has a 50hp Yamaha 2-stroke. When it’s idling in neutral it idles at a high RPM. When I put it in gear to idle around (less than 5 mph) it idles rough, almost sounds like it’s bogging down. I bump it up to 5 mph or more it runs fine. WOT it runs great! It just seems like it doesn’t like low RPMs. The tach doesn’t work properly, I’m only going by sound and feel.

Anybody have any ideas what might be going on and what the fix could be?

I'm no mechanic, but I would say take to a service center and have them clean the carbs and do a link-n-sync.

Thanks for the replies. I was finally able to talked to my brother who worked for a marina part time and he’s thinking the gas is bad and the carbs need cleaned. So I’m going to drain the old gas and clean the carbs and see what that does.
