    Question Oil drain leaking

2014 Mercury 115 EFI 2.1 serial 2B151074. My oil drain has started leaking oil. I may have over tightened or loosened it to much over the years. My question is can I just unscrew it all the way out and replace it with a normal drain plug or do I need to replace it with the same factory oil drain that is in it now.

You talking lower unit? If so, you might just need a new gasket for the plug, available even at Bass Pro.

No I’m talking about the drain for the motor oil.

There was a thread about this about a week ago. It probably just needs o- rings replaced.
