I know it is kind of a specific question, but what is everyone's favorite 18ft hull from the 90s? With a 150 or 175 horse?
For some eason I'm in love with a lot of the boats from the 90's

2019 Triton 189 TRX
2019 Mercury 175 Pro XS 4 Stroke
6" Rapid Jack Magnum Manual Plate
I can't speak to many boats at all but I can say that I love the hull on my 1998 Sprint 286 Pro. The topcap on the other hand............
I'm insanely ignorant on this topic but it seems like hull design in the 90's was every bit as good as now. It's everything else that's progressed. I'm very interested to here what y'all have to say.
My opinion is biased but since I have owned my 1999 boat for 18 years and hope to run it 20 more plus years I say Javelin Renegade 19. They call it a 19 but it is really 18'9". In the early 90's it was called Javelin 389. It was 1999 when they redesigned the top cap lay out and renamed the hull Renegade 19 so a Javelin 389 and Renegade 19 is the exact same hull but different top cap lay out.
Honorable mentions...
Startos 285
Skeeter ZX 185
Ranger 482
Cant for get a hydra sports LS 185 with a 175 intruder on it. 3 series rangers were good. Laser ltv was my favorite- wish i had another one
xpress x19, 200ho G2, aluminum sawtooth cut prop, paper sack tackle storage, ugly stik pro team, color c-lector
My old 1996 Nitro 884 Savage with the Nitro Series Mercury 150 efi has been a good boat.
Laser 17-10 was a great boat for fun but for a good ride a 184 Champion was as good as it gets back then in my opinion.
I love my old Tracker 1800TF but agree with others on the Ranger 300’s and the Champion 184.
Ranger 461/462VS
Skeeter ZX185
Stratos 285 Pro XL.
Dreamed and drooled over those boats growing up.
The Champion 181 and 187 gets an honorable mention.

Champion 181
Bought a new Javelin 389T with 150 Evinrude Intruder back in 1995. Wish I had it back. Great boat!!!
I had both a 181 and a 187 Champion. The 187 had the room people want today...great hull! Most think the 181 was “tippy”, but man will they run if you fish somewhere with lots of creeks or winding rivers.
I’m not sure you can have this conversation without including Rangers 3 seres? They are tanks...but they ride like chit on rough water.
PS I see the OP is from Alcoa. I bought the 181 from Rico Silvera (there’s a blast from the past for you old BFHP guys LOL) up in your neck of the woods.
80’s 3 series Ranger. Cowling said 150, it was a 200. Fun boat, but the backwash was really bad ( two gas tank boat, valve was in the splash well). Run one tank dry at WOT———- the backwash was so bad your feet would get wet in the cockpit
John, I liked the Champ you had before you bought your Cat. I remember Rico
That was the 187DCX. Didn’t have the garage space at the time to keep it.
My Laser 17'10" was a hot rod, but I did have a 2.5 Merc 200 on it.
I had a '93 Procraft V180 that was one nimble minx. It had a Mercury 150. Sure it had a flasher in both the dash and bow but it was one great fishing platform. One great boat.
