storage locker light problem

my storage locker lights have not worked in two seasons so i decided to check them out, to start all my bulbs were blown so i decided to switch them over to led lights, i hooked up the first light flipped the main power switch (not the light switch) and the light came on i then flipped the light acc switch lights stay on......i tried another location it did the same thing, i am now thinking there was something wrong before that kept the ligfhts on whenever i had the power switch on and that is why all the bulbs were blown.....i have a 2004 206 DC any ideas what the issue may be, with the mass of wires under the dash its tough to even begin looking for the issue

My factory compartment lights are on/off at each individual locker light. With the power on, you "rock" the lens up/down = on/off.

if i cant figure out the problem that was my thought install switches at each light i was thinking it may be easier
