    Lightweight casting rod?

Looking to buy a super lightweight Medium Heavy casting rod for worms and jigs to match with an MG reel. I prefer a 6'6" or 6'8" version. Budget around $200 to $250 Any suggestions?

I picked up a nice used Powell Inferno rod at the tackle swap this winter and it has been surprisingly nice rod for such a low price, but it isn't well balanced and it seems a bit tip heavy. I want something a bit more quality and prefer made in USA. I saw the Duckett rods at Cabelas and they were super light, but I wasn't sure on quality and I think those are made in China. I should've bought the Duckett Ghost rods at the Classic when they had them on sale for 3 for $90.00, but I didn't want to pack them around all day.

Weight wise It’s tough to beat a Phenix feather. The shortest they make is a 6’9” MH, awesome rod, fishes more like a Medium+ vs a true MH.

May be a little over your price range but kistler helium 3's are pretty light and balance well, plus they're extremely sensitive.

Shimano Exprides are extremely light. They have a 6'8 MH model too.

Phenix Feather 6'9 MH/XF (3.2oz), Shimano Cumara 6'8 Gen 1 M/F (3.35oz). Another option is going custom but that will likely stretch your budget.

I actually have a Phenix Feather 6'9" MH/XF that I'd sell. It's a nice rod but I build so don't really need it. PM me if you're interested. Also, KyLakeLunker (Jeremy Reed, Reed Rods) is down in Kentucky and he might be able to build you one in that price range.

The 13 Fishing Fate Black rods are super light and way under your budget. If you can find a 13 Fishing Envy, they will definitely fit your needs for light and super sensitive. Also, the Hammer rods are super light, but I find they are a little less sensitive, but I love their parabolic action for treble hook baits.

Megabass Levante Tour Versatile is a great option though its a tad longer. If interested take a peek at one. The first gen Levante/Orochi XX Spinnerbait Special is another good choice if you can find one. Very versatile too.

An inexpensive possibility is a Daiwa Aird X rod. They make a 6.6 and 7.0 and can usually be found at Academy for around the $50 range or lower. I have a 6.6 that to me is very light and paired with a small Tatula or BPS Pro Qualifier is a light setup.
To me, the rods perform very well for the price but likely won’t compare to most of the ones mentioned above.

Absolutely! The Skipper has the lightest "feel'' of any rod I've held. It loads up great for slinging lighter baits and has plenty of muscle down low to move a fish out of cover. It loads up so nicely that I find myself using it a lot for squarebills when targeting shallow cover. ALX has earned my respect and my business the past couple years.
