    Praying Totalscan Transducer Placement

Just acquired a Nitro Z7 and electronics are old.
After exhaustive investigation, choose Lowrance Elite Ti2 with 3in1 transducer.
    Best value (price, function, etc.).

So, now need to mount the 3-in1 and discovered it is huge, about 12 inches long.
Install Guide shows three options: (1) Jackplate and states you will not have sonar or depth when on -plane,
    (2) Step Pad, cautions the same on-plane issue may occur depending on boat
(3)Transom Mount, with provide aluminum mounting plate.

Now the big question is where on the transom, cannot be too low, needs clean water ,must be level, etc.
Have to drill holes in transom for with a mounting pate or the mount. Only want to drill once
That were yinz come in - where have yinz mounted your Totalscan transducers on your boats?
    Please sed pics.

    Very much appreciate your assistance.

I have an LSS2 transom mounted now, but had my old totalscan mounted in the same place before replacing it.

Even when mounted on the transom you will still have issues with losing bottom contact on plane w/ the totalscan.

Will snap a pic when I get home.

Since you have a nice clean transom with, I am assuming no holes yet, you could look at a Stern Saver and not have to worry about holes. And it would let you move the transducer around some if you need to.

I think you should have went with a 2-1/2d ducer setup.....put 2d in bilge and 2-1 on the jackplate/transom....

Take a look at this video by Lowrance.

You need to check with BPS, Tracker Marine First. There was a memo sent out last year on placement of the total scan. Seems the transom is to thin in places. Len

Could not use the Stern Saver cause my Nitro transom has curve and would not lay flat.

Jackplate and also install a puck inside the boat.
