R W Baird and Hilliard Lyons

So i work for Hilliard Lyons and this company has been in business 165 years. I came here 6 years ago and had planned to retire from here. They were sold to R W Baird and now i am out. I was wondering if this is on a national level? Do you guys hear anything about this in the financial world?

No, didn't hear. I hated dealing with them. The only good thing was they had a local office to walk into. My mom had an account there, and I would go with her to discuss her investments. Every time, they pushed front end loaded funds, or other investments with high commissions. She was down to one stock fund, we sold it, as we were preparing to cash out, and move to Fidelity. The sell fees were near $300. It would have been a $7.95 fee at Fidelity. I called them to see if there was some mistake, with it being so high. They told me they actually gave her a discounted fee, that normally it was higher than that. Unbelievable.
