Bluetooth is very low power and the distance from battery to your device might make a difference, worth trying to get very close to battery to read. Hope it helps.

    Good morning all,

First time poster and have read the entire thread! I have a Crestliner 1870 FCC retriever on order for the spring, boat will weigh about 1500lbs loaded. I’ve got a Garmin 95sv and am planning to run a Force TM on a 24v setup. I don’t normally fish for more than 5 hrs a day, so I’m thinking 2 50ah and a 100ah for cranking, chart plotter, live wells, pumps, NMEA 2000 and lights should be good. Motor will be a Merc 115/80 Jet. TM will be used for trolling & spot lock in a river that has a 2-4mph current. Thoughts on whether or not the 2 12V 50ah will meet my needs?

that setup is good for that boat and 2 50ah is good for 5 hours under normal conditions, but river current changes the variables , if you were spot locked in 4mph current, NO 2 12v50ah would not last 5 hours

    Thanks Drew,

If I found it lacking, would adding a 12V 50ah to turn it into a 36V 50ah system improve anything in terms of run time, or would I want to upgrade to 24V/36V 100ah? The Force trolling motor is good for 24 or 36V setups. Also curious to know if your Ionic store can ship to Canada

I bet we could have a great TV series called "lithium wars"...it might be very interesting.

In the mean time, I'll just stick with whatever Andy sells.

Received my batteries today. Made me excited for fishing and my new boat, considering it’s the dead of winter and I can’t use them forever! Thanks Drew, great price and service!

I have a 2005 Mercury, 50hp, 2 stroke and would like to know if I could use a 12v 50Ah Ionic as a starting battery only (NO other attachments such as graphs, livewells, lights, etc.). This is one of the most popular Mercury motors ever so I'm also wondering if anyone has this setup and how it's working? Thank you!

no that will not work, you will need a 40ah starter battery or the 100ah dual purpose

    1) I have a 2005 50hp Mercury 2 stroke, have two 12v 50Ah Ionics and would like to know if they could be wired in parallel for my starting battery only (instead of using one 12v 100Ah Ionic)? If that won't work ...

    2) Why can't I used a 12v 30Ah Ionic Starter battery for my 2005 50hp Mercury 2 stroke outboard instead of a 12v 40Ah Ionic Starter? (Isn't the 12v 40Ah starter for outboards 250 to 450 hp?)

    3) Does it matter whether my 2005 50hp Mercury 2 stroke outboard has an alternator or stator? Or maybe you already know whether it has an alternator or stator?

Thank you SO much for your help!!!

the 50ah are just deep cycle not dual purpose like the 100ah , the max amp draw is 170 amps for 3 seconds, yes 2 will double that but but also the BMS is not designed to be charged by a stator or alternator
we do have a few customers using them for 9hp to 30hp, if they do start I would not recommend for very long runs with motor charging , maybe 20 to 30 min max
if you have 2 50ah now you are welcome to try, you will not harm the battery , it will shut down if a problem starting

the 30ah starter batteries are not for marine use , they are for UAV side by sides , yes it will probally work but we dont sell then as a MArine battery because they cant be charged by the new high amp 4 strokes
    the 40ah will work from a 9hp to a 500hp
