    Motor upgrade

I have a 2002 mercury 115 2stroke. It runs well. I'm not sure of how many hours it has. I have found a 2006 mercury that I'm thinking of trading for. Here are the specs.
Clean Used 2006 Mercury 150 HP Optimax V6 DFI 2 Stroke 25" Counter Rotation Outboard Motor. Model number: 150CXL. Serial number: 1B433830. Weight - 437 lbs. 112-120 psi compression on all 6 cylinders. Oil Injected. Motor has been used in Freshwater only. Electric Start. Power Tilt.

The computer has the following information stored:

    1762.92 - Total Hours

    Breakdown of hours by RPM:

    0-749 - 1102.75
    750-1499 - 459.78
    1500-2999 - 100.07
    3000-3999 - 40.08
    4000-4499 - 23.78
    4500-4999 - 23.85
    5000-5499 - 12.32
    5500-6249 - 0.13
    6250+ - 0

He has offered 2,800 for mine toward the cost of his. He is asking 4,990.

    I have a 180 combo

Too many hrs. at low RPM for me if I read the list of RPMs correctly. You are giving him your motor and you are buying his....

Why do you think there are so many hours at low rpm?

25” could be an issue as well. I know there are jack plates but I still don’t think it’s recommended.

Trolling or mapping probably. Second engine readout I’ve seen here with almost no max RPM data. Dunno why people baby these engines and it’s actually bad for them.

You aren't gonna want to run a 25" motor on that boat and being counter-rotating you will be severely limited on props.
