1996 221 elite what lb thrust can I get away with

I just bought this 221 elite and it has a 36 volt 101lb minnkota on it, I want to switch it with my terrova I-pilot Link that's only 12 volt 55lb thrust that's only been used 4 times but Ive been told that wont pull my boat,
what is the thrust need to move this aircraft carrier I just bought

any help would be appreciated

I have a 210 and have a 80# on mine. I'd say that's about the minimum I'd want.

Hi Sir,
Very nice looking 221. I also have a 1996 221 Elite. I have a 112lb. Minn Kota Ultrex. 90% percent of the time I leave the speed dial on 30.On a really windy day I seldom need to set it at 50 percent.I think an 80lb. Ultrex would have been perfect.

I also have a 221, 96. I fish Detroit River, Saint Clair River, Saint Clair. Running a 80 Terrova with no issues. Gets me up stream when snagged, when I find the need for more power, It’s ugly out there and I’m heading in. FYI- 225 is enough on the back also.

80lb minimum. It'll probably be all you ever need too.
