Question Door co hair jig rod options?

What's your go to rod? Not spending $270 on Seth's Diawa rod. Gotta be some options out there..

Avid 7'6 ml xfast, but Seth's rod is the deal man. Nothing I've used comes close besides the avid, but the more i use Seth's rod the more impressed i am with it.

Daiwa Tatula rod series that came out last year has a 7’6”ml hair jig rod and I think they’re $160. Or a Fenwick HMG 7’6”ml

Phenix Feather 7'7" light ($160) or have one built on a NFC DS761...that's what I use, better hair jig blank than dropshot IMO.

The 7'-5" ML fast action 13 Fishing Fate Black is a perfect rod for throwing hair. Not too whippy. Good amount of backbone and affordable! I also own the 7'6" Muse Gold for hair but found it's a little too whippy. Great components on the rod but the action is a little off to bomb them out there.

Look around for a 7'6" daiwa cronos. I like the xtra fast model with the stinger top.

How do you like the Phenix compared to the NFC ds761? Id like to throw 1/16 to 1/8 hair jigs. Is the 761 a little too powerful for those. Looks like the lower end rating of the ds761 is 1/8. Any thoughts on the nfc ds760?

Id like to see how your ds761 looks too if you have any pics

I've never built on the ds760, but the 761 is fine for 1/16. The 761 is a fairy wand though, I don't know that I'd like the 760. I've thrown the little 1/10 and 1/15 ned heads with the 761 just fine. That being said I sold it to a kid in my club so I don't have any pics but it was just a basic build, most of my rods are. I probably have another 761 in the shop I'd have to check.

I have the avid 7’ 6” and not overly impressed.. not sure what I expected but I expected more. However, it works and I’ll keep using it until I find something better. Would like a legend elite or something custom built
