Alexandria Lakes
How would you rate these lakes for large mouth fishing? Lots of choices it seems. If they are heavily used for boating, please advise. Thanks.

There are a ton of good lakes in the area... throw a dart at a big map of the area and go fishing. Some are obviously busier like the chain right near town, but others are little tucked away gems.

The "chain" being referred to is Darling, Carlos, LHD, Geneva lakes, etc. Fishing there is decent, for all species. Boat traffic will be high on weekends...it's the recreation center of the area. Just about every lake within 30 miles will offer much better bass fishing, and much less boat traffic. Don't overlook the smaller lakes!

There are numerous small lakes in the Alex area, that provide great fishing for both green & brown fish. During mid-week some of the smaller ones never see a boat. Just draw a line up I-94 from Osakis to Fergus Falls. Then look 15-miles north & 15-miles south of that line, there are more lakes than the average bass chaser can fish in a couple of years.
