    Prop to Pad on 200ZX

Can anyone tell me what PTP measurements they're running on ZX200 with 200SHO? I have a 2002 ZX200 with a new 2018 SHO, 24"FXP. (My jackplate does not have the "dots" that other owners are referring to).
I'm just breaking in this motor now and I'm mounted in 2nd hole from top of bracket and jackplate is up 7/8". That measures exactly 3" PTP. I have approx 20 lbs water pressure above 5000rpm.
    Pse and thankyou

Can anyone pse tell me what mounting hole on the bracket Skeeters use from the factory? Do they use a standard 2nd or 3rd hole from top? Thankyou

My partner has an 02 ZX225 and his OX66 is mounted in the second hole. Not sure what his PTP is, but his jack plate is definitely higher than 7/8". (he doesn't have the dots either) I have an 08 ZX200, and run my HPDI at 2 1/4" PTP. I have 25+ pounds of water pressure, so don't be afraid to go up some from where you are now.

I contacted Skeeter. The technician said ZX200's with SHO are shipped mounted in 2nd hole from top with 7 dots showing. He said that is 1 3/4" prop-to-pad, but maybe he meant 1 3/4" showing on jackplate, which would be same as 7 dots ?. On mine that would measure 2 1/2" actual PTP. Does that sound right?

With a 12 inch plate, 2nd hole and halves even is 5 inches ptp. From what I understand, a dollar bill width on the separation of the plates should be close for setup.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm still breaking in my motor but looks like I may get near to the dollar width raising it a 1/4" at a time. And hey, my Canadian bills are wider than your U.S. ones. Why the hell are mine worth so much less??

Start at 2.5 inches and see how it performs

I have it set at 2.5" now. We're in some high water problems here on the St. Lawrence River right now but I should be able to try it next week. Thanks for the replies

I would think 2 3/4" below the pad will be optimal depending on load.

I know this post is almost a year old, just curious where you ended up at on prop to pad.

Brit...I've had it everywhere from 3" to 1 3/4" and it seems to perform the same so I left it at 2 1/2". This 24" FXP has great hole shot and mid range, but takes a while after 4500 to reach 5900 rpm. I think a 23" would be ideal to get me at 6000-6100 a little quicker.

Thanks McQuaig, I have the same boat but with a 2002 200 Vmax HPDI and lately started playing with the prop to pad. Mine set at anything less than 4 1/2" is very hard to turn left when trimmed out, won't get more than 10 PSI on water and top speed was only 61 mph gps. I dropped it to 4 3/4" and gained 3mph, water is now at 15 PSI and is easier to turn left. I'm going to drop it another 1/4" and try it again. The prop is a 25 yamaha and the rpm has remained around 5900 rpm.
