1993 Pro V 200 Head gasket issues

Anyone?

HydroTech Phase II since new and they did a rebuild about 6 years ago added carbon fiber reeds at that time.

I’ve blown now 3 head gaskets in about the past 4 years. Why?

my local mechanic chalked the first two as the aftermarket gasket used during the rebuild but now they are both Yamaha gaskets and I just blew another. Ideas?

Are you doing the work yourself? The first thing i'd check is the torque specs on the head bolts, then I'd check to make sure you have no water getting in the tank. You may need to drain it all to see for sure. Remember if you use ethanol laced gas that it's hydroscopic and will literally pull water out of the air and into your gas.
