Depending on what you want from your boat. Want ok raise it up. Want to find the sweet spot to get the most out of your hull buy a jackplate and fine tune it.

You will definitely benefit by raising it one inch. As stated, if u want to dial it in, get a jack plate. The added setback will benefit as well

If you just raise it one hole while it's bolted to the transom it will porpoise if it ever gets out of the hole. You need a jack plate and a six inch will do what you want and I'd put the plate on it before I do anything else.

Two holes open and one medium or large plug. Then use a jack plate to adjust height

6 inch jackplate start at 3.5 under go up 1/4" at a time till gain rpms but no speed increase or lose acceptable water pressure come down 1/4" lock her in.. Your on plane times or terrible. I just put a 200 on a R81 6 inch plate 25 fury 4, trying to dial it still in however my on plane times are sick at 2 sec.

6" plate to liven up your Ranger. Start at 3 1/2 prop to pad.
