Some of it may be the fishery? Is it known as numbers lake or river vs. having quality fish? Its tough to make yourself do it, but dedicate a handful of hrs each trip to throwing big fish baits. Big jigs, big swim baits, big worms, etc. all in big fish spots. You may not get many bites, but you might get the bite you're hunting for!

As stated above. If you want big fish you’ve got fish lakes with big fish. Most lakes it’s a numbers and luck deal. The more you catch your chances go up.

I used to be good..I used to win events.. Used to catch 25 lb bags of fish.. Even a 30 lb bag once. Then I had shoulder surgery, 3 times.. And bought a Skeeter... Ain't put a 20 lb bag in that boat in the 3 years I've owned the damn thing..

Use baits that catch bigger fish. Jigs and spinnerbaits would be a good start.

Right there with you. I haven’t caught a bass over 3 pounds in over a year.

Yeah, getting out of Illinois is what I've done for years! On Pickwick right now. Loads of big bass here. I talk to people who catch em! Do what they do and still snake bitten, lol. Just thought I'd share! No biggie, enjoy every second!
